House Update: Front Porch

I know, I know. I've been completely slacking on the home updates. In my defense, we have a new puppy to take care of, baby showers to attend, and overtime at work to do.

Yeah, that's a lie, I've just been  lazy. 

Here's what the front looks like so far.

I made a trip to Michael's for the wreath and snagged the flowers,  wooden letter, and some paint. I painted the letter first and used a hot glue gun to attach everything. 

I wish I could take credit for the landscaping but alas, that was courtesy of the builders. One of the perks of new construction! We'd like to line the flower bed edges with stone and add rails to the porch itself but this will do for now!

The bulk of our projects have been indoors, so improvements to the outside of the house have been minimal, but considering this is what we started with...

The Hubs is 30!

The hubs is officially 30! Regardless of the fact my birthday was a week after his (I'm five years younger), I still call him old man!

Believe it or not, we actually met in college. Due to the hubs's military service, he didn't start college until he was in his twenties. He was a poli-sci major and happened to take an anthropology class I was in for my major. He likes to remind me he got a better grade in the class than I did!

Anyway, what with the new house and pup, we didn't do much in the way of presents but I still wanted to do something for him to take to work and share with his employees.

I found the box at Target in the office supply section. I grabbed some floral foam and card stock from Michael's and used a hot glue gun for the sign. Cut the foam to size and insert suckers. 

So lucky to have a husband with an amazing sense of humor!
